What To Expect
Step 1
Booking & Plaque Delivery
Once you book your memorial, you’ll receive a personalized brass plaque engraved with your loved one’s name and message. This plaque will be placed on the reef, marking their final adventure.
Step 2
Arrival and The Duval Crawl
Your Key West journey begins with The Duval Crawl, a guided tour of the island’s best bars and restaurants. It’s a time to laugh, share stories, and enjoy the island the way your loved one might have wanted.
Step 3
Veterans or Family Memorial Ceremony
In the afternoon, you’ll board a U.S. Coast Guard vessel and head to sea for a moving tribute. Whether for a veteran, a family member, or a lifelong friend, this moment honors their life in a setting that feels sacred and serene.
Step 4
Sunset Toast at The Rum Distillery
At day’s end, raise a glass in their honor at Key West’s First Legal Rum Distillery. This “Last Call” toast is led by Paul, a chef and board member of the Hemingway House, known for his work alongside Gordon Ramsay. The atmosphere is warm, personal, and unforgettable.
Step 5
Next Day: Relaxation and Reef Personalization
The following day is yours. Explore the island, relax by the beach or pool, or experience a jazz-style funeral parade down Duval Street. Later in the day, you’ll witness the personalization of the artificial reef that will carry your loved one’s name forever beneath the sea.
Step 6
Reef Placement and Farewell
On placement day, join the captain and crew as your loved one’s reef is escorted to its new home within The Last Call Reef. The reef becomes part of a living ocean system, welcoming fish, coral, and sea life. After the farewell, enjoy the rest of the day on the water. Fish, dive, or simply soak up the peace of the open sea.
